The Wedding Trends in Right Now
9 October 2020
We have researched all social media platforms, bridal sites and magazines and here we are to give you the top wedding trends of the year to help inspire you both when creating your perfect wedding day!
Sustainability – Worldwide we are becoming more sustainability conscious, and this is now reflecting in weddings! Who said eco-friendly had to be plain and boring? Many weddings are now starting to feature locally grown, seasonal flowers and live trees which are providing us with such natural and raw colours creating that aesthetic edge. This gives your wedding day that personal feel. This is also being reflected in the wedding decorations; much more natural and raw materials, textures and fabrics are being used which can give it that rustic edge. A lot more people are embracing nature as the setting for their wedding day and outdoor venues are becoming much more popular.
Intimate weddings – More couples are opting for micro weddings, this definitely can make your wedding day more intimate with your nearest and dearests. This allows more depth to your wedding day as well as making it more relaxed and informal. With you spending less money on accommodating for a huge guest list, this will allow you to go BIG in detail or having it at a unique destination and venue that you’ve always dreamed of!
Statement pieces – Who doesn’t love oversized? Apparently the bigger the better! The major trend in accessories is oversized, this can be anything from décor to floral hangings to statements. This creates the WOW when your guests walk into the room. As well as this, people have seem to now focus on the lighting of their wedding day and doing this by using candles for table centerpieces and mood lighting, this creates a vibe that fits your dream day.
Non-traditional – A traditional wedding isn’t for everyone, there is seen to be more diversity on wedding days like never before. Your wedding day should be a reflection of you as couple, so if traditional does fit your style, then you should do YOU. More brides are now differing from white and also from a traditional dress. Weddings are now taking on a contemporary style and we are living for it. Most likely you and your partner may have different styles and both should be incorporated into your wedding day, this means having less ‘matchy-matchy’ details (which is totally in right now) and that’s what makes your day unique to you.
The most important thing is your wedding day should reflect you both as a couple. As a couple, you should be happy and love all the details and enjoy your wedding day as it will be one of the most memorable moments of your life and your closest ones.
